FAQ

EFT, Qigong & TRE® — your questions, answered.

The things people most want to know before they book.

About the work
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), or “tapping”, is a body-based way to calm difficult emotions. You gently tap a sequence of nine acupressure points on the face, chest and hand while naming what’s bothering you, which settles the body’s stress response so the feeling loses its charge.
Qigong is an ancient practice from Chinese medicine: slow, flowing movements paired with breath. I teach Daisy Lee’s Good Morning, Good Evening Qigong — a short daily routine, no flexibility or special clothing needed, that calms the nervous system and supports sleep and energy.
TRE is a series of seven simple stretches that switch on the body’s natural tremor mechanism. The gentle shaking releases deep-held muscle tension that talk therapy can’t reach. It’s done lying on a mat, and I offer it in person in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.
Yes — it’s evidence-based. EFT has been studied in over 100 peer-reviewed papers and meets the American Psychological Association’s criteria as an effective approach for anxiety, depression, phobias and PTSD. In one trial, a single session measurably lowered the stress hormone cortisol. You don’t need to believe in it for it to work.
Most clients come to Qigong for sleep, low energy, perimenopause symptoms, and a busy, wired mind. Ten to fifteen minutes a day settles the nervous system, eases tension and supports circulation — a steadying daily anchor rather than a quick fix.
Yes, for most people. The tremor is a natural mechanism your body already knows, and you stay in control throughout — we go slowly and stop whenever you like. Your first session is in person (75 minutes) so I can guide you; after that most people practise at home. If you have a relevant medical or psychiatric condition, check with me first.
Sessions & booking
We start with a short chat about what’s most alive for you, then a few minutes of breathing to settle. From there we move into guided tapping, Qigong or TRE depending on your session, and close gently. EFT and Qigong run 60 minutes; TRE runs 75 minutes.
EFT tapping is R550 (60 minutes). Qigong is R450 in a small group class or R550 one-to-one (60 minutes). TRE is R950 (75 minutes, in person). New clients can start with a free 20-minute call to find the right fit.
Less than you’d expect. We can work effectively while you simply hold what’s bothering you in mind — an approach called “silent EFT” — so you never have to say more than you’re comfortable with. Many clients prefer this, especially early on.
Logistics & policies
Yes. About a third of my practice is online and it works just as well for EFT and Qigong. In-person has a slight edge for first sessions and deeper somatic work. TRE is in person only, in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.
Yes. Online clients make up a large part of my practice. I work in South African time (GMT+2); UK and EU clients usually book early morning or evening Cape Town time.
More than 24 hours’ notice: free reschedule. Less than 24 hours: a 50% fee, waived twice a year because life happens. No-shows are charged in full.
EFT isn’t yet covered by South African medical aids. I can provide a detailed receipt to submit, though I’d manage expectations. Some UK and EU private insurers cover EFT through registered practitioners — worth checking with yours.
No — it works alongside them. I support many clients who are also seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. If you’re in crisis or working with complex trauma, please keep your other support in place; this is an addition, not a substitute.
